1. Will there be support and rest stops?
There will be support available for each ride and one rest stop on each of the routes where you can get some snacks (including gluten-free and nut-free options) and water. But we do encourage riders to bring a water bottle and have an extra tube available in case you have a flat tire.
2. Can we use E-Bikes?
At the Pedal in the Pines, it is all about the fun! This is a ride, not a race - and we want everyone to be able to participate at a comfortable level. We welcome e-bikes, fat tire bikes, tandem bikes, or whatever you have stored in your garage.
3. I registered but now I can’t come. Can I get a refund?
We do not offer refunds for cancellations. However, you can transfer your paid registration to another person. Transfers can be made through the online system if you originally registered there. Alternatively, reach out to us at pedalinthepines@hotmail.com.
4. Can I change my mind about which route I want to take?
We know some days we feel better than others. When you pick up your packet, you can confirm which route you want to take so we have a count of the number of riders on each route. Keep in mind the shorter routes are there-and-back so you can also shorten each of those rides if you just aren’t feeling it that day.
5. Are there vegetarian or gluten-free options available?
Yes, we will have some gluten-free, nut-free, and fruit options available at the rest stops. We will also have a limited number of plant-based options for lunch (please fill out the registration form with your preference). We also plan to have a limited number of gluten-free buns available (again, please fill out the registration form accordingly).
6. Can I pick up a packet for someone else?
Yes, we will give a registration packet to someone other than the registered rider.
7. Where can I rent a bike if I don’t have one?
There are several local bike shops that rent bicycles –
St. Germain Bike Rentals – 715-479-8007
BJ’s Sport Shop in Minocqua – 715-356-3900
Chequamegon Adventure Company – 715-356-1618
Coontail Sports – 888-874-0885
Your Boat Club (Eagle River) - 715-477-3322
Z-Best Bikes - 715-356-4224
8. I’m from out of town and need a place to stay. Do you have suggestions?
Contact the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce for suggestions – call 715-477-2205 or check out their website at https://st-germain.com. Please also consider one of our 2024 gold sponsors -
The Whitetail Lodge at https://whitetaillodge.com or
Lake of the Torches Casino/Resort at https://lakeofthetorches.com
9. What kind of shape do I need to be to ride?
Riders who are in average physical condition should be able to complete the rides. The shorter rides are on paved trails that are mostly flat with a couple of good hills. The road ride does have a few hills. We recommend with any distance ride that you prepare yourself with adequate training.
10. I have children that want to do the ride. Do I have to pay the registration fee for them too?
Yes, all ride participants need to pay the registration fee. Each child that participates will get lunch and drinks with their registration, as well as a t-shirt. Keep in mind t-shirt size is only guaranteed if you register by the due date. Children who aren't registered are also welcome to join you back at the community park where food and drink will be available for purchase. There's also a fun playground for them to enjoy!
11. Can I join the festivities even though I’m not riding?
You are welcome to hang out at the pavilion and enjoy the festivities. There will be food and drink available for purchase as well as an opportunity to win some fabulous raffle prizes.
12. I don’t want to ride, but want to volunteer. Who do I contact?
We’d love your support! Help will be needed on Saturday July 12, 2025 during the event. Contact us at pedalinthepines@hotmail.com if you’d like to help support this event.
