About St. Germain Silent Trails UA

Enjoy St. Germain!

The St. Germain Silent Trails UA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, develop, and maintain the non-motorized trails in the St. Germain, Wisconsin area.  We hold two major fundraisers -

the annual Freedom 5K and 1K races on June 28, 2026 and

the Pedal in the Pines bike ride on July 11, 2026.

All proceeds from these events benefit three trail systems -

Awassa Trails

Miles of hike/bike trails to enjoy

We offer 13 miles of paved hike/bike trails in St. Germain, with several trailheads available to use as starting points.  The trails wind through the woods and connect to our downtown area, with several stores and restaurants to choose from along the way.  The paved trails also connect to the Heart of the Vilas trail system, offering many more options to choose from.

Year-round Activities

Our trail systems offer year-round access, depending on your interests.  The Awassa Trails, a system owned and maintained by the Town of St. Germain, offer 5 miles of hiking trails.  Much of this system is also groomed in the winter for fat-biking, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing.  Please join us for our candlelight hike/snowshoe in mid-January - an event you won't want to miss!

Something for everyone

The Fern Ridge Recreation area, another system owned and maintained by the Town of St. Germain, offers several miles of hiking and snowshoe trails, with several challenging hills available to get your heart pumping.  In addition, the town maintains 4 miles of mountain bike trails that are also groomed for winter fat-biking.
